NB: the #mw-header bar across the top of the wiki intervenes with the content underneath, even though the bar's controls (activators for sidebar menu and the search field) aren't obscuring anything. Try visiting Build.app.htm, for example, scrolling the page so the redirect link is in the space below the header, and then trying to hover/click on that link. The click and hover get swallowed up by the invisible header instead.
A similar thing happens for the page controls (edit, history, and more menus) if the page is scrolled to screen coordinates that puts them next to the search field. It's not *just* the header itself, though, that prevents click and hover on these.
The former problem can be alleviated by setting a 0px (1px?) height rule on the header. This won't cause any harm to the search/sidebar activators. But it won't alleviate the latter problem. This is because the header contains another invisible zone next to the search activator (for notifications etc), and this is what's obstructing the page tools. The notifications etc slots should probably be vertically aligned beneath the search activator. --crussell 17:40, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
