Tab characters are not allowed in triple script source text. Taking into consideration both the job of the compiler writer who aims to have good error reporting and any prospective contributor to a given source text, the use of tabs makes things more difficult than they need to be. Pitfalls in the latter circumstance have been well-known ever since the appearance of make. Simply put, tabs are too spooky to be tolerated (and for very little gain).
